When Samantha’s mom who is a nurse moves up to a remote village on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Sam hates it. But then she meets Marie who takes her on a fishing expedition to a lagoon way up an inlet and they find a small dolphin trapped in a fishing net.

The tide’s coming in so they can’t stay to release it, besides, Marie’s family sometimes eats dolphin meat. Sam has to convince Marie that they have to sneak out that night with a good sharp knife to cut away the net and rescue the dolphin.

How can find their way back to the lagoon in the pitch dark? And will they reach the dolphin in time before the poor creature drowns?
